Alyssa Miller Completed Business Internship at Ashland University

Alyssa Miller of Nashport, OH, completed an internship through the Dauch College of Business and Economics at Ashland University.

According to Dr. Khushwant Pittenger, business professor and internship coordinator at Ashland, these required business internships are a good way for students to explore their career choices, network with professionals, build their resumes and develop applicable skills.

Miller interned with The Buckle in Columbus, OH, under the supervision of Area Manager Chris Monroe.

Miller's duties included creating displays in the front windows of the store and designing outfits based on color, season, purpose, reason, feeling, and look to display in the windows on mannequins.

Her major projects included moving all products from the temporary store to the remodeled store and completing the front store window displays.

Miller said she learned great teamwork, as well as how an elite business works and what it takes to excel.

"I have gained valuable experience on seasonal and continuously changing fashion," Miller said.

Miller is majoring in marketing.

Miller is the daughter of Doug and Lynda Miller.

Miller is a 2010 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.
