Alyssa Predota of Parma, Ohio, was named co-valedictorian at Ashland University

Alyssa Predota achieved a perfect 4.00 grade point average during her time at Ashland University in the Biology and Toxicology department in the College of Arts and Sciences. She completed a major in Biology and a double minor in Mathematics and Chemistry, while being in the Honors program.

She is the daughter of Edward and Lorraine Predota of Parma, Ohio. Predota is a 2013 graduate of Parma Senior High School.

She said her time at AU has given her the opportunity to create great relationships with her professors. So much so that one of her science professors made this comment regarding her. "Not only has Alyssa exceled in her major and minors, she has produced an excellent honors capstone that developed a research program here at AU, all while graduating in three-and-a-half years. No matter what the topic, Alyssa gives every course 100 percent due to her intellectual curiosity, maturity and the responsibility she takes for her education. Her time as an Ashland University student is marked with a joy for learning and an infectious attitude. These traits will serve her well as she continues her studies at the graduate physician assistant program."

Predota said she loved her experience at Ashland University. During her valedictorian speech, she said, "One of the great truths about an Ashland education is, AU seeks to pave the way for us to go wherever we want to go. Each of us has selected our own destination, and our time here has brought us closer to that place. Now is the time for us to continue our journeys on different paths."
