Area Resident, Kurtis Schaefer, is a Member of Student Senate

Kurtis Schaefer of West Salem , OH, is a part of Ashland University's Student Senate.

Schaefer is majoring in nursing. He is the son of Donald and Debbie Schaefer of West Salem. Schaefer is a 2011 graduate of Northwestern High School. Schaefer serves as the CONHS Apartments representative for Student Senate.

Student Senate strives to serve as a medium for expressing student opinion and works to promote the campus community. Student Senate represents the student body to the Ashland University Board of Trustees, the president and other campus administration. Members of the Student Senate actively serve on numerous institutional and Faculty Senate planning committees. Membership on Ashland University's Student Senate is open to full-time students at the University. Students must be elected by the student body and maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.
