She is the daughter of Michael and Francesca Zappitelli of Parma. Zappitelli is a 2012 graduate of Valley Forge High School.

SCRUBS Society is an organization that seeks to provide leadership and encouragement to the students as well as engage in community service around Ashland and Mansfield. The selected members stay connected to faculty, peers, and community through different activities such as implementing coats for kids, assisting with a harvest party at Richland Newhope, participating in the Navajo collection drive, and hosting a CPR course. These particular programs, along with many others, have been very successful.
