Corinne Doubek Completed Business Internship at Ashland University

Corinne Doubek of Ashland, OH, completed an internship through the Dauch College of Business and Economics at Ashland University.

According to Dr. Khushwant Pittenger, business professor and internship coordinator at Ashland, these required business internships are a good way for students to explore their career choices, network with professionals, build their resumes and develop applicable skills.

Doubek interned with Ashland University Collegian in Ashland, OH, under the supervision of Professor and Advisor Matthew Tullis.

Doubek's duties included assisting the assigning of prices to specific advertising sizes and deciding whether they were negotiable, as well as collecting businesses who wanted to put advertisements in the paper.

Her major projects included contacting all organizations and clubs on campus, contacting businesses in Ashland and meeting with potential advertisement purchasers.

Doubek said she learned how to maintain contact and interest in individuals and also learned the skills of organization, readiness, and timeliness .

"I now understand that there is so much more to marketing than I originally thought and that it is extremely necessary to understand every aspect of the major in order to succeed," Doubek said.

Doubek is majoring in marketing.

Doubek is the daughter of Daniel and Kimberly Doubek.

Doubek is a 2009 graduate of Ashland High School.
