The Ashland University Choir, conducted by Dr. Rowland Blackley, Professor of Music, is composed of fifty-four singers representing many academic majors across campus. Each year the members are selected by private audition and rehearse three days a week. The ensemble performs programs of unaccompanied literature of all eras as well as major works with orchestra. The choir has made numerous concert tours of the United States and Europe. They are the principal choral ensemble on campus.

Recent choral-orchestral repertoire has included these larger works: Mendelssoh's Elijah, the Vivaldi Gloria, Carmina Burana, Handel's Messiah, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, and the Brahms, Mozart, and Verdi Requiems. The Choir regularly performs with Maestro Arie Lipsky and the Ashland Symphony Orchestra as well as the Ashland Chamber Orchestra.

In addition to the University Choir, Ashland University offers several other singing opportunities: Chamber Singers, Ashland Area Chorus, Women's Chorus, and Opera Workshop.
