Deric Dove of Newark, OH is a member of Drop of a Hat Players. Dove is majoring in vocal music education. He is the son of Dennis and Elizabeth Dove of Newark. Dove is a 2012 graduate of Lakewood High School.

Drop of a Hat Players is a Broadway Musical Revue performance group composed of 18 students. Its mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of Ashland University students so they become confident and skilled performers, while promoting a vibrant relationship between Ashland University and surrounding communities. Students involved in this organization perform musical revues designed to fit 15, 30 or 60 minute musical selections at no charge to civic groups for banquets, parties, meetings or special events. Performances include a variety of solos, duets, and group numbers crossing a variety of styles and periods.
