Ashland University's Indoor Track Team competes in NCAA Division II in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Eagles are led by head coach Jud Logan and assistant coaches Dana Freeman, Dave Smalley and Trent Mack. The 2011-2012 indoor track season is Jud Logan's seventh season as head coach. Jud Logan was named the 2010 Midwest Region Men's Coach of the Year for indoor track and field and he was tabbed as the 2010 GLIAC men's track and field coach of the year during the outdoor season. The Eagles had a busy Friday and Saturday (Feb. 3-4) and at every turn, enjoyed remarkable success. Both the men's and women's AU teams are ranked fifth in the country and both could edge up a spot or two in the coming week. At the NCAA Division II Challenge in Geneva, Ohio, both AU teams placed first. For the men, the field included 22 teams. Ashland led that pack with 100 points. The Ashland women ended the two-day event with 79.60 points. The women's field included 20 teams.
