Emily Sparks Awarded The J.M. Smucker Co. Annual Scholarship

Emily Sparks, an Ashland University senior majoring in accounting, was named the J.M. Smucker Co. scholarship award winner for the academic year 2015-16 at AU's Student Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) February meeting.

The scholarship was presented to Sparks by Nick Workinger, director, U.S. Retail Sales Finance of The J.M. Smucker Co. Sparks, a 2012 graduate of South Central High School, is the daughter of Donald and Lorraine Sparks of Greenwich, Ohio.

Sparks said, "It is an honor to be selected as the 2015-2016 recipient of the J.M. Smucker Scholarship. The J.M. Smucker Company has maintained a wonderful relationship with Ashland University and its students for many years. I am eternally grateful for their generosity and commitment to providing excellent opportunities for young professionals throughout our community."

The criteria for the annual Ashland University Smucker scholarship, which was established in 2008, include a grade point average of at least 3.0, junior or senior status, accounting or finance major, industry internship experience, and a member of the Eagle Investment Group or the Institute of Management (IMA) student chapter or other Ashland University student organization.
