Ashland University Theatre Department will be performing The Importance Of Being Earnest at Hugo Young Theatre at Ashland University November 2-4 and November 9-10 of 2012. The performance will start at 7:30 p.m. on November 2nd, 3rd, 9th, and 10th. November 4th's performance will start at 2 p.m.

The Importance of Being Earnest was written by Oscar Wilde and will be directed by Teresa Durbin-Ames. This performance appeared on Broadway in 1895 and also on the Big Screen in 1952. This masterpiece is part satire, part comedy of manners, and part intellectual farce. It is probably the most famous of all comedies. This performance revolves wittily around the most ingenious case of "manufactured" mistaken identity ever put into a play. It presents a world so blatantly and ostentatiously artificial while taking aim at self-righteous moralism and hypocrisy.

The show will consist of numerous Ashland University Students. Come enjoy yourselves as well as support the Ashland University Theatre Department.

Tickets are on sale now at the Ashland Theatre Box Office and the Ashland website. Adults are $10, and $9 for Senior Citizens, non-AU students, and Faculty/Staff.
