Lentz is majoring in sports communication. She is the daughter of Mark and Lorraine Lentz of North Ridgeville. Lentz is a 2011 graduate of Medina High School. Lentz serves as the president for the sports communication club.

The Sports Communication Club strives to educate Ashland University's campus and the surrounding community of the multiple tenets of sport communication, and how its actions can affect individuals on different levels. By attending sporting events, completing community service, and organizing programming for Ashland University, the members of the Sports Communication Club actively gain knowledge about the sports realm and learn how even consequences on a national stage can result in repercussions on a local level. Most recently, the Club proudly organized and televised: "Forum on Sport: Institutions Under Seige" to students, faculty, and community members about the recent sports scandals. The Sports Communication Club hopes to present more forums and programs in the future to educate sports fans about the numerous facets of sports communication.
