Matthew Wilcox is a Member of Ashland University's No. 8 Ranked Football Team

Matthew Wilcox of Ada, OH, is a wide receiver for the undefeated Ashland University Eagles Football Team, which is currently ranked eighth in the American Football Coaches Association (ACFA) Division II Coaches' Poll.

The Eagles (7-0) travel to Northern Michigan (4-3) this Saturday, Oct. 24, for a 1:00 p.m. game.

In previous years, Ashland has won four-straight games against the Wildcats with a 44-14 win last year.

Wilcox is majoring in exercise science. He is the son of Thomas and Brenda Wilcox of Ada. Wilcox is a 2014 graduate of Ada High School.

The Ashland University football team competes in NCAA Division II in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Eagles are led by head coach Lee Owens, now entering his 12th season. The Eagles play their home games in Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field on the Ashland University campus. The Eagles finished last season at 8-2 and finished second in the GLIAC South Division.
