Matthew Wilcox is a Member of the Ashland University Football Team

Matthew Wilcox of Ada, OH, is a member of the Ashland University Football Team that travels to Michigan Tech this Saturday, Nov. 8, for a 1 p.m. game that will determine which team will secure a spot in the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

The Eagles (8-1) are currently ranked seventh in the Super Region Four, while the Huskies (7-1) are ranked sixth. Only the top six teams will advance to the playoffs.

In previous years, Ashland has earned a spot in the postseason on five different occasions (1986, 1997, 2007, 2008 and 2012).

Wilcox is majoring in exercise science.

Wilcox is a 2014 graduate of Ada High School.

The Ashland University football team competes in NCAA Division II in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Eagles are led by head coach Lee Owens, now in his 11th season.
