The Eagle Investment Group, a student-run organization, is made up of senior finance majors. The students manage more than $1 million and only 10 percent of all student managed investment programs control that much money. The Eagle Investment Group gives students opportunities to be innovative and creative as they prepare for productive careers in financial and investment management. Students get a chance to test this theory in the spring on their annual trip to New York City. While the New York Stock Exchange is closed to public tours, students in the Eagle Investment Group are able to tour the exchange and are able to be on the floor and experience what really happens there.

Students in the Eagle Investment Group also compete in competitions and the Ashland University group has finished in the top five in each of the last three years at the portfolio competition held at the University of Dayton. More than 200 schools from around 60 nations participate in this competition. Additionally, the Ashland group participates in the Chartered Financial Analysts Challenge, in which eight universities from Northeast Ohio analyze a company and present the results of their analysis to a panel of judges from the CFA. The Ashland group has finished in the top four each year.

Ashland University, ranked in the top 200 colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report's National Universities category for 2013, is a mid-sized, private university conveniently located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.
