Max Ertle of North Canton, OH, is a member of the men's track and field team at Ashland University.

Ertle is majoring in entrepreneurship. He is the son of Richard Ertle and Patricia Miller. Ertle is a 2011 graduate of Hoover High School.

The Ashland University men's track and field team competes in NCAA Division II in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Eagles are led by head coach Jud Logan, now entering his 21st season as a coach and his 10th season as head coach. The Eagles play their home games at Ferguson Field located next to the football stadium. The Eagles hope to return to the top of the GLIAC with a mixture of veterans and new faces in key positions.
