Sam Ryland of Columbus, OH, is a member of The Eagle Marching Band at Ashland University.

Ryland is majoring in psychology.

She is the daughter of Debbie Ryland of Columbus. Ryland is a 2013 graduate of Hilliard Davidson.

The Ashland University Eagle Marching Band is composed of 80 students and includes color guard and featured twirlers. The group performs for all home games as well as traveling to marching exhibitions throughout Ohio. The Marching Band is the pride of Ashland University, documented by its growth from around 20 students in 1988 to its present 80. One of the most active organizations on campus, the band has come to represent the best in musical presentation and exciting movement within a contemporary style. The 80-member ensemble performs under the direction of Gary Ciulla, Director of Bands.
