Shane Priselac of Pittsburgh, PA Completed a Summer Internship

Pittsburgh resident Shane Priselac, who is a senior hospitality management major at Ashland University, interned with Boy Scouts of America this past summer.

Priselac is the son of Duane and Priscilla Priselac of Pittsburgh, and is a 2012 graduate of Upper St. Clair High School.

Boy Scouts of America is an organization that provides adventurous, outdoor activities and camping to all members.

Priselac had multiple duties during his internship including preparing, maintaining and shutting down all facilities of the camp. He also was in charge of the check in and check out process as well all of the upkeep of the facilities, the equipment and transportation, and any problems that occurred pertaining to anything inside or outside of the program.

Priselac accomplished a number of projects during the internship. He set up all tents and camp site equipment and led the staff in tearing down after camp was over. Priselac, along with the camp staff, was able to shut down the camp in record time -- two days ahead of normal. He noted they were able to complete this record time accomplishment even though they were very understaffed.

He assisted the trading post director on his off time with the organization of the stores where he organized all the back rooms and the central rooms of the stores. He made it easy for finding product by moving products so that most commonly sold items were easy to grab and restock. Priselac also built a T-shirt display case that was later hung in all the stores.

Following graduation, Priselac plans to get a job in the supply chain field in logistics or the hospitality field with a catering business or at a restaurant. He also is pursuing a job in either a restaurant or operations side of a hotel.
