Shayne Smith of Bellevue, OH, is a member of the Jazz Orchestra at Ashland University.

Smith is majoring in music education. He is the son of Stewart and Dana Smith of Bellevue. Smith is a 2012 graduate of Bellevue High School.

The Ashland University Jazz Orchestra (AUJO) is one of the finest in Ohio. Made up of both majors and non-majors, AUJO performs for concerts and campus events throughout the year. The group hosts the annual Maple Rock Jazz Fest which invites outstanding high school jazz ensembles to perform and work with some of the finest professional jazz musicians in the country. This ensemble tours annually and members must audition. Small jazz combos are also found as schedules allow.
