A Veteran Resource Guide has been published, Veterans Day Ceremonies have been conducted on campus, and AU has been recognized nationally as a Military Friendly School. AU has been a Yellow Ribbon Program participating institution since 2011. Student veterans of AU have access to personal and professional counseling, academic advising, career services, financial aid, disability services, withdrawals due to deployments, Yellow Ribbon funds, and recognition events. The local chapter is associated with the national organization located in Washington, D. C.
