2016 Feb 18

Stephanie Huber of Lewistown, OH, is a member of AU's University Choir.

Huber is majoring in social work.

She is the daughter of William and Tiffany Stokes of Lewistown. Huber is a 2014 graduate of Indian Lake High School.

The University Choir is Ashland University's principal choral ensemble, an auditioned group including singers representing many academic majors across campus. The choir performs varied and exciting unaccompanied music of all eras as well as major works with orchestra. Most years they undertake a domestic tour, singing at schools and churches, with a major city such as New York, Chicago, Toronto, and Washington, D.C., as their destination. Every fourth year they travel abroad, most recently to Italy, where they sang a mass at St. Peter's Basilica. In 2017, they plan a performance and cultural enrichment tour of Germany.

In addition to the University Choir, Ashland University offers several other singing opportunities: Chamber Singers, Ashland Area Chorus, Women's Chorus, and Opera Workshop. AU also boasts a student-run a cappella group, Surround Sound, and the Theatre Department's musical theatre troupe, Drop of a Hat.

Ashland University, ranked in the top 200 colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report's National Universities category for 2016, is a mid-sized, private university conveniently located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) values the individual student and offers a unique educational experience that combines the challenge of strong, applied academic programs with a faculty and staff who build nurturing relationships with their students. ###
