Stow Resident Receives IMA National Scholarship

Ashland University sophomore Jessica Syme, an accounting and finance major from Seville, Ohio, and senior Taylor Randles, an accounting major from Stow, Ohio, have received the IMA Memorial Education Fund (MEF) National Scholarship from the Institute of Management Accountants for 2016.

Syme, a 2015 graduate of the Ohio Virtual Academy, is the daughter of John and Jennifer Syme of Seville. Randles is a 2013 graduate of Canal Winchester High School and the daughter of her late mother Angela Boyer and father Timothy Randles.

Syme and Randles both received high praise from Dr. Kris Parsons, chair of the Department of Accounting/IS and faculty to the IMA Student Chapter.

"As leaders in the IMA Student Chapter, Jessica and Taylor have provided invaluable leadership to our student organization," Parsons said. "Their organizational and interpersonal skills will serve them well as they transition into the professional world."

Syme and Randles will be recognized with the awards at the IMA Canton Chapter Student Night this fall and both with be recognized at the National IMA Student Leadership Conference in Detroit, Michigan.
