Stow Resident interns with KPMG

2016 Sep 14

Stow resident Taylor Randles, who is a senior accounting major, completed an internship with KPMG this summer. The internship was under the supervision of director advisory/ IA & SOAS strategic sourcing Lisa Stiffler.

"I worked on two large clients throughout my internship. My main duties were testing of controls, meeting with clients to update narratives, and working with the clients internal audit team to implement SOX compliance," Randles said. "I performed the Financial Close and Journal Entry testing for two large clients."

She believes the internship will make her a better professional in the classroom and will help her stay focused. Although she had to go through a decent amount of training, she believes this internship will also help her with the start of her possible future career. She learned that she likes working for a company with prestige and would like to do public accounting at the start of her career.

"I learned the value of work and independence. People at this company trust that their employees will do the quality work for the client. I learned a lot about quality of work while working for the professionals at this firm."
