Sugar Grove, Ill. Resident Completes Summer Internship

2017 Oct 2

Sugar Grove, Ill., resident Marina Schaefer, a senior fashion merchandise major at Ashland University, completed an internship with the Cleveland Indians in Cleveland, Ohio. This internship was under the supervision of Nancy Schnider.

Schaefer is the daughter of Kim and Dave Schaefer of Sugar Grove, Ill., and is a 2014 graduate of Kaneland High School.

She explained the Cleveland Indians as a Major League Baseball corporation that was made up of many executive offices for their different departments. While working for the Cleveland Indians, one of Schaefer's responsibilities as an intern was being a key holder to a merchandising location and an assistant to three buyers of the Cleveland Indians.

Something major that she accomplished was being in charge of inventory in the main team shop, while also playing a key role in purchase orders.

Schaefer said, "I learned how to manage both people and the computer program chain drive associated with their systems."
